Why Vault Pilates?
Joseph Pilates' method, which he originally called Contrology when he created it during World War I, was built on nine principles: Breathing, Concentration, Control, Centering, Precision, Balanced Muscle Development, Rhythm/Flow, Whole Body Movement, and Relaxation. Those principles have held for over a century, even as the word "Pilates" gets used for a lot of different things these days. At Vault Pilates, every class is rooted in the original nine principles.
Equipment-Based Pilates
All of our in-studio classes and private sessions use the equipment Joseph Pilates invented, updated over the decades with modern materials and engineering. All of our equipment is made in the US by Balanced Body, the largest manufacturer of Pilates equipment in the world.
While the equipment can seem intimidating at first, it's simpler than it looks. The springs can be used to enable movements that would otherwise be inaccessible, or to add challenge as you progress. Joseph Pilates built the first version of this equipment to help exercise & rehabilitate World War I soldiers. We've used it to train NFL players and professional ballet dancers, as well as clients in their 100s. Same equipment, same principles, all types of bodies.
Small Classes
Our group classes are capped at 8 participants, small enough for instructors to give real, individual attention and feedback within a group setting. We do not compromise on form or safety.
Family Owned, Community Oriented
Vault Pilates is family-owned and operated, and centered around community. That means building community among our clients as well as giving back to the communities we're part of. Instructors at Vault Pilates are passionate about what they do. They care about your progress, and about making sure you feel better after class than you did before.
Balanced Body Authorized Training Center
In addition to being the largest manufacturer of Pilates equipment in the world, Balanced Body also runs the largest and most respected Pilates education program in the world. Vault Pilates is the only studio in New York State outside of NYC authorized by Balanced Body to train and certify new Pilates instructors using their method. Earning this status is the culmination of years of honing our craft, and means our instructors have achieved and are held to the highest of standards.
“I visit Geneva frequently to see family, and Vault Pilates has quickly become one of my must-stop spots. It’s an incredible addition to the area. Pilates can sometimes feel intimidating, but the instructors here make it fun, welcoming, and totally accessible. Their classes have also played a big role in my postpartum recovery. The studio is gorgeous, and the entire experience keeps me coming back every time I’m in town. Huge kudos to the owners and teachers for creating something so special.”
“As blissful as a workout experience can be. Quiet, calm, focused. Expert guidance from instructors with slightly varying approaches is beneficial and never boring. After 6 months, and completely unanticipated, it fixed my feet and I no longer crack like a bag of chips. I think the footwork is straightening out my bunion!”
What our clients are saying
“I did a Complete at Vault Pilates for the first time as I was visiting the area for the weekend! It was one of my favorite Pilates classes I’ve taken in the past year of doing Pilates! It challenged me the perfect amount where it wasn’t impossible, but I was definitely working up a sweat! I’m looking forward to visiting Vault Pilates again hopefully soon!”
“The staff here are so warm, kind and bubbly and the cues, adjustments and exercises are amazing! I feel almost addicted to the energy of the space, never mind the classes themselves, which are phenomenal. I wish I lived here so I could come to more classes, but whenever I’m in the area again, I will be excited to come back! 😻”
